LMC pounce on FC Ifeanyiubah; ban 9 players for 12 games
FC Ifeanyiubah have come under the sledge hammer of league management company of the Nigeria professional football league
The heat came on the wake of Southeastern club disappointing lose to Niger Tornadoes at Lokoja on match day 36 of the NPFL.
It was gathered that the club failed to control its players and some officials as the referee and his assistants took some stringent but vital decisions.
It was observed that the match officials came under heavy threats in the hands of some FC Ifeanyiubah’s players and officials, this is however perceived to have violated a section of the LMC rules which asserts that players should conduct themselves in a professional and reputable manner during and after matches on and off the pitch no matter how harsh a decision taken by the referee or his assistants happens to be.
LMC has condemned the actions of these players and their officials in strong terms accompanied by sanctions and fines as failing to do so could drag the league to a disrepute, however to serve as deterrent going forward. Some of the rules violated by the team are;
Failure to control their players in a professional manner which led to mass assault on the referee and his assistants, in this regard the fine stipulates; FC Ifeanyiubah would pay a fine of N750k Naira.
FC Ifeanyiubah players Ngoma Luamba, Elu Wilson, Isaac Loute are suspended for 12 NPFL games each for assault on the referee. Also banned for 12 NPFL games are Stephen Eze, Adeleye Olamilekan, Michael Egbeta, Uchenna Godfrey Jr, Douglas Nkrumah, Kone Soumaila
Also, FC Ifeanyiubah secretary Chidi Nwogu & kit manager Adirika Obiefuna are banned for next 19 NPFL games for assault on match officials. The suspensions on FC Ifeanyiubah players & officials take effect immediately & shall be carried over into the next NPFL season.
The boss Ifeanyiubah Ubah AKA capital oil and gas will not be too pleased to know.
